J.C. Pleban Settles Case for $2,500,000, 100x Policy Limits Wrongful Death
J.C. Pleban recently settled a wrongful death case for $2,500,000.00. Following a tragic death, clients attempted to settle with the insurance carrier, who had only $25,000.00 in coverage. The carrier agreed to settle, but demanded clients pay medical liens incurred by the decedent. The clients retained J.C. Pleban who argued the medical liens do not apply. He also argued the insurance carrier acted in bad faith. Ultimately, the insurance carrier settled for $2,500,000.00, which was 100 times greater than its policy limits for the insured.
